Cultural Considerations. The CONTRACTOR shall participate in the Department’s efforts to promote the delivery of services in a culturally competent manner to all Members, including those with limited English proficiency and diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Cultural Considerations. The Contractor shall participate in and cooperate with HCA efforts to promote the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Health and Health Care. The Contractor will provide effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy, and other communication needs. At a minimum, the Contractor shall: Educate and train governance, leadership, and workforce in culturally and linguistically appropriate policies and practices on an ongoing bases. (CLAS Standard 4); Offer language assistance to Individuals who have limited English proficiency and/or other communication needs, at no cost to them, to facilitate timely access to all health care and services. (CLAS Standard 5); Inform all Individuals of the availability of language assistance services clearly and in their preferred language, verbally, and in writing. (CLAS Standard 6); Ensure the competence of Individuals providing language assistance, recognizing that the use of untrained individuals and/or minors as interpreters should be avoided. (CLAS Standard 7); Provide easy-to-understand print and multimedia materials and signage in the languages commonly used by the populations in the service area. (CLAS Standard 8); Establish culturally and linguistically appropriate goals, policies, and management accountability, and infuse them throughout the organization’s planning and operations. (CLAS Standard 9); Collect and maintain accurate and reliable demographic data to monitor and evaluate the impact of CLAS on health equity and outcomes and to inform service delivery. (CLAS Standard 11); and Create conflict and Grievance resolution processes that are culturally and linguistically appropriate to identify, prevent, and resolve conflict or complaints. (CLAS Standard 14).

Cultural Considerations. The CONTRACTOR shall participate in the Department’s efforts to promote the delivery of services in a culturally competent manner to all Members, including those with limited English proficiency and diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. CONTRACTOR Provider Network The CONTRACTOR shall establish and maintain, through written agreements, an appropriate Provider network necessary for the provision of the services under this contract. This includes, but is not limited to primary care Providers (PCPs), specialty Providers, hospitals and other health care service Providers as identified by the Department. For geographic areas lacking Providers sufficient in number, mix, and geographic distribution to meet the needs of the number of members in the Service Area, the Department at its sole discretion may waive requirements. Contract with required Providers based on the standards outlined within the Managed Care Policy and Procedure Guide. Primary Care Providers (PCP) The CONTRACTOR shall: Implement Procedures to ensure that each Medicaid Managed Care Member has a person or entity, formally designated, as a PCP, primarily responsible for coordinating their health care services. Ensure each Member has access to at least one PCP with an open panel. Additional guidance is contained within the Managed Care Policy and Procedure Guide. Ensure its contracted PCPs have an appointment system that meets the following access standards: Xxxxxxx visits scheduled within four (4) to six (6) weeks. Urgent, Non-Emergent visits within forty-eight (48) hours. Emergent visits immediately upon presentation at a service delivery site. Waiting times that do not exceed forty-five (45) minutes for a scheduled appointment of a routine nature. Walk-in patients with non-urgent needs should be seen if possible or scheduled for an appointment consistent with written scheduling Procedures. Provide twenty-four (24) hour coverage by direct access or through arrangement with a triage system. The CONTRACTOR must monitor the adequacy of its appointment processes. Specialists

Medicare Program Requirements – Delegated Services This attachment sets forth the applicable Government Program requirements, covering the delegation to Provider of any management responsibilities or administrative services if any, that are required by CMS to be included in contracts and/or agreements between; (i) health plans / health maintenance organizations, and (ii) providers of health care services, authorized assignees, delegates or subcontractors. This attachment is hereby incorporated into the Agreement, and both will be automatically modified to conform to subsequent changes or amendments by CMS to any Government Program requirements set forth herein. All terms and conditions of the Agreement not specifically modified by this attachment remain unchanged and will control. In the event of any inconsistency between this attachment and the Agreement, the terms and conditions of this attachment will control, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Agreement. Capitalized terms utilized in this attachment will have the same meanings ascribed to them in the Agreement unless otherwise set forth in this attachment and the applicable statute(s).
Cultural Considerations. The CCN shall promote the delivery of services in a culturally competent manner to all members, including those with limited English proficiency and diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The CCN shall have written procedures for the provision of language interpretation and translation services for any member who needs such services, including but not limited to, members with limited English Proficiency at no cost to the member. The provision for any needed interpretation services shall be the responsibility of the CCN.
