Common use of Court Pay Clause in Contracts

Court Pay. Any represented employee who is required to be in court on off-duty time as part of his/her job duties shall be entitled to pay at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) for all court time with a minimum entitlement of three (3.0) hours at time and one-half (1 ½). In addition, such employee shall be entitled to a maximum of one (1) hour of total travel time at time and one-half (1 ½) for such court appearance, unless the employee utilizes a City vehicle to travel to court. It is understood that a represented employee who is required to appear in court during his/her shift and who is required to stay beyond the end of his/her shift, shall be entitled to pay at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½), but shall not be entitled to any minimum number of hours or to any travel time.
