Court Activity. Stand-By Court Pay -Standby court pay will be granted to employees who are not scheduled to work those hours and received a subpoena to appear in court which was later canceled. The employee shall receive two (2) hours pay at time and one-half (1 1/2) times his/her regular rate of pay. Employees who receive at least three hours advance notification of the cancellation shall not be entitled to receive stand-by court pay. Each employee scheduled for a court time shall be required to check their County E-mail or contact by phone during business hours the Civil Department to determine if notice of cancellation was given. Failure to follow the established procedures will result in the employee not being eligible to receive such standby court pay.

B. Court Time Pay - Employees required outside of their normal work hours to appear in Court as a result of their employment during regular or overtime work hours in any civil or criminal matter, including all subpoenas, shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) their regular hourly rate of pay at a minimum of three (3) hours, unless the employee is scheduled to be on duty during any part of the time he or she is in court, in which case he or she will be paid for actual hours worked over the regularly scheduled tour of duty at a rate of time and one-half their regular rate of pay. Employees required outside of their normal work hours to appear in court cases scheduled outside the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit as a result of their employment in any civil or criminal matter, including all subpoenas, shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) their regular hourly rate of pay at a minimum of three (3) hours which shall include a reasonable amount of travel time.
