Courses During Working Hours. An employee may take one (1) University of British Columbia course per year during working hours if the Department Head agrees to the required time off and make-up time arrangements. Permission for such arrangements shall not be unreasonably denied.

Courses During Working Hours. Subject to operational requirements, supervisors may approve absence from work with pay not to exceed three (3) hours per week, to permit an employee to enroll in a course that is not available during the employee's off-duty hours. The employee shall be required to make up the time missed in a manner mutually agreeable to both parties.

Courses During Working Hours. Courses which are offered only during regular working hours may be approved by the Chief of Police and Personnel Director provided time off can be conveniently arranged and arrangements can be made to make up time off during the same week as used.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours The Employer and the Union recognize that union representatives and stewards play an important role in effectuating the terms of this Agreement; however, both parties acknowledge that the duties undertaken as a union representative or xxxxxxx are in addition to the their job assignments.   • Work During Vacation Should an employee who has commenced his scheduled vacation and agrees upon request by the Hospital to return to perform work during the vacation period, the employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times his basic straight time rate for all hours so worked. To replace the originally scheduled days on which such work was performed, the employee will receive one (1) vacation lieu day off for each day on which he has so worked.

  • Normal Business Hours Those hours during which most similar businesses in the community are open to serve customers. In all cases, “normal business hours” must include some evening hours at least one night per week and/or some weekend hours.
