County Board. If the grievance is not settled at Step 1, the grievance will be referred, in writing, to the County Board within five (5) working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) after the decision of the Sheriff. Within thirty (30) working days after the grievance has been filed with the Board, the Board shall meet with the Union and the grievant to discuss the grievance and make a good faith effort to resolve the grievance. The Sheriff and the Union will have the right to present evidence and witness testimony including cross examination of witnesses. If the Board fails to respond in writing to the grievant and the Union within five (5) working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) following the meeting, the grievance will be referred to Step 3.
