Common use of COPE Deduction Clause in Contracts

COPE Deduction. The Board agrees to honor contribution deduction authorization from its teachers in the following form (or reasonable likeness): I hereby authorize the Board of Education to deduct from my salary, during the last pay period in October only, the sum of $ and to forward that amount to the Lake County Federation of Teachers, Committee on Political Education (COPE). This authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked by me in writing prior to October 1 of any school year, or upon termination of my employment.
