The duties and responsibilities include: ▪ Gathers and reports statistical data and other information as required by USDOT; ▪ Reviews third party contracts and purchase requisitions for compliance with this Program; ▪ Works with all City departments to set overall annual goals; ▪ Ensures that bid notices and requests for proposals are available to DBEs in a timely manner; ▪ Identifies contracts and procurements so that DBE goals are included in solicitations (both race-neutral methods and contract specific goals) and monitors results; ▪ Analyzes City’s progress toward attainment and identifies ways to improve progress; ▪ Participates in pre-bid meetings; ▪ Advises the City Manager and City Council on DBE matters and achievement; ▪ Determines contractor compliance with good faith efforts; ▪ Plans and participates in DBE training seminars; ▪ Provides outreach to DBEs and community organizations to advise them of opportunities. The contractor shall carry out applicable requirements of City ordinance 2-1448 a (2) in the award and administration of any eligible City contracts.
