Common use of Consecutive Weekends Clause in Contracts

Consecutive Weekends. The Employer will make all reasonable efforts to schedule employees so that they have at least every other weekend off. In the event that an employee is required to work on two (2) consecutive weekends, all time worked on the second weekend will be paid for at the rate of 1½ times the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay. The next regularly scheduled weekend will be paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay. For purposes of this provision, the weekend is defined as commencing at 23:00 on Friday and concluding at 23:30 on Sunday. This paragraph shall not apply to Per Diem employees and if the employee voluntarily agrees to work on the weekend either at the time of hire or thereafter (including any trading of weekend work).
