Common use of Conference Attendance Clause in Contracts

Conference Attendance. Teachers who, with the approval of the Board, become professional representatives of the school in attendance at an educational meeting or conference shall have no salary deductions. The request for such time with a statement of the expense involved, if reimbursement is allowed, should be submitted to the immediate supervisor in writing at least seven (7) school days prior to the date of the monthly school Board meeting. Exceptions to this rule, such as late notice of a meeting, shall be handled through the building principal. If approval is given, the request shall be answered in writing, and if the expense for the activity is allowed, the amount will be stated in the reply. If denied, a statement regarding the denial will be so noted in writing on the Conference Request Forms.
