Compressed hours. This letter is entered into in order to provide for a greater benefit to the public during summer months as well as fostering greater flexibility within the office environment. Participation by employees is optional; however, once the employee opts in, they cannot opt out or vice-versa. The parties therefore agree to the following outline pertaining to a revised work week which includes two schedules: the “Long” schedule runs for the duration of Daylight Saving each year. The “Short” schedule begins Monday prior to Victoria Day and runs to the Friday prior to Labour Day. Either party may discuss renewal or changes to this schedule during a Labour Management meeting prior to the expiration of the Collective Agreement. Exception – Customer Accounts is only eligible for the “Short” schedule (from the Monday prior to Victoria Day and runs to the Friday prior to Labour Day May 1 to August 31 as summer student coverage is required to make compressed work in this department), or an alternate schedule as may be presented by the Company at any time, allowing the Company to modify/alter/cancel as business requirements dictate.
Compressed hours. The CEO may agree to a full-time employee working ordinary weekly hours over less than a 5 day week within the bandwidth after considering the employee’s role and responsibilities, operational requirements and any other relevant considerations. Any agreement under this clause will be reviewed by the CEO and the employee on a 6 monthly basis to assess the ongoing need for, and suitability of, the arrangement including any work health and safety considerations.
