Completion by the Owner Clause Samples

The 'Completion by the Owner' clause allows the project owner to step in and finish the work if the contractor fails to complete it as agreed. Typically, this clause outlines the circumstances under which the owner can take over, such as persistent delays or abandonment, and may specify the process for hiring new contractors or using the original contractor’s materials and equipment. Its core function is to ensure the project is completed on time and to protect the owner from losses caused by contractor default.
Completion by the Owner. In the event of termination of the Agreement by the Owner because of default by the Contractor, the Owner may take possession of the work and of all materials and equipment thereon and may finish the work by whatever method and means he may select.
