Compassionate Leave. 6.4.1 An employee is entitled to 2 days paid compassionate leave when a member of the employee’s immediate family or a member of the employee’s household contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to their life, sustains a personal injury that poses a serious threat to their life or dies.

Compassionate Leave. 6.4.1 (j) An employee is entitled to 2 days paid compassionate leave when Compassionate Leave on each occasion that a member of the employee’s immediate family or a member of the employee’s household contracts or develops a personal illness or sustains an injury that poses a serious threat to their life, sustains or dies (a personal injury that poses a serious threat to their life or dies‘permissible occasions’).

Compassionate Leave. 6.4.1 An employee is entitled to 2 two (2) days paid compassionate leave when to attend to spend time with a critically ill, injured or dying person who is a member of the employee’s immediate family or household as defined under the Workplace Relations Act 1996. An employee may take up two (2) paid day’s compassionate leave upon the death of a member of their immediate family or household. Compassionate Leave. 6.4.1 An C9.6.1 Where an employee provides satisfactory evidence, an employee is entitled to 2 two days paid compassionate leave on each ‘permissible occasion’ when a member of the employee’s immediate family or a member of the employee’s household contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to their his or her life, ; or sustains a personal injury that poses a serious threat to their life his or her life; or dies.

Compassionate Leave. 6.4.1 32.1. An employee may apply to take additional days on personal/carers leave, in accordance with section 31.

There is no annual limit for compassionate leave.

Immediate family means an employee's spouse or partner, a child (including an adult, adopted or step child), parent, parent in law, grandparents, grandchild or sibling of the employee.
