Command Translator Services. The Contractor shall provide command translator services to ensure translation from English to Polish and Polish to English for language and documents are translated when required. The Contractor shall comply with applicable portions of the current edition of the publications and directives listed in J-0300000-01 in the performance of command translator services. The command translators may be required to attend meetings off the installation within Poland. The Contractor shall be responsible for all transportation and accommodation arrangements. Command translator services include: • Translation/interpretation of spoken language; • Translation of printed and electronic documents; • Typing/word processing of translated documents. Command translator staffing requirements are provided in J- 0300000-02. The Command translator may be required to work overtime up to 25% above the normal working hours. The translator shall input all translated printed/electronic documents using Microsoft Office Word and shall submit proof-read copies of all translated documents for offset or for printing, together with the digital files on CD. The translator/ interpreter remain faithful to the original text and content of the documents or conversation being translated, without omissions, additions or other changes. Translated printed/ electronic documents are provided as specified. Spec Item Title Performance Objective Related Information Performance Standard The Contractor translator shall not rely on the use of machine translations. The Contractor translator shall adhere to Government’s instructions for translations, including but not limited to format and layout of completed work product, and submission deadlines set by Government. After 90 days of final acceptance of the English language document by the Government, the contractor shall destroy all material/waste generated during the translation. Scrap material/ waste shall be destroyed in accordance with DoD 5200.1 Vol 3 governing destruction of sensitive material/waste. The Contractor shall certify in writing that these actions for each document have been accomplished. The Contractor shall not share documents or information being translated with any other party. For translation of legal documents, the Government will have (30) calendar days to review the deliverables for acceptance, during which time the Government will complete the quality assurance review and notify the Contractor of all errors that require correction.
