Common use of Clothing Allowance Clause in Contracts

Clothing Allowance. (a) Every uniformed employee shall be issued on an as-required basis at the discretion of the Chief Constable the following items of uniform: tunic, trousers, skirts, overcoats, caps, waterproof clothing, briefcase (recruits only), boots, ties, gloves, shirts, t-shirts and socks. The last issue of such items shall remain the property of the Employer. A refusal of issue may be appealed through regular grievance procedure as outlined in Section 14 of this Agreement.
