Common use of Civic Leave Clause in Contracts

Civic Leave. 23.04 An employee shall be entitled to up to fifteen (15) days civic leave without pay, not to be deducted from any leave credits, each year to serve as members of community councils, public boards and committees and to actively participate in sporting events at the Regional, Territorial, Interprovincial, National and International levels (this includes the Arctic Winter Games), and Search and Rescue activities.

Civic Leave. 23.04 20.08 An employee shall may, subject to operational requirements, be entitled to up to fifteen seven (157) days civic leave without pay, not to be deducted from any leave credits, with pay each year to serve as members of community councils, public boards and committees and to actively participate in sporting events at in the RegionalRegion, Territorial, Territorial Interprovincial, National and International levels (this includes the including Arctic Winter Games), and Search and Rescue Activities and Emergency Services training/license upgrading. Where an employee receives any form of remuneration (except for expenses) for participating in any of these activities, the employee shall either refuse such remuneration or take the civic leave as leave without pay.
