On April 13, 2020 Xxxxx College signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement document under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. The CARES Act Student Grant funds became available to Xxxxx College on April 23, 2020 for a total amount of $2,877,191. Xxxxx College intends to use the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. Eligible Students Approximately 2800 students qualify for the CARES Act Emergency Financial Aid Grants by meeting the requirements of Section 484 in the Higher Education Act of 1965 and having a disruption of campus operations resulting from COVID-19. Note: 4900 students received federal financial aid funds during the spring semester and would be determined Title IV eligible under Section 484 in the Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. However, this figure includes students who were taking online courses which were not disrupted due to the Coronavirus.
