Catawba. C O L L E G E Construction of the five new resi- dence halls of Xxxxxxxxx Village was completed during the summer of 2007. The halls house 124 upper class students (junior & seniors) in single & double accommodations. Two of these new residence halls, Xxxxxxx East & Xxxxxxx West, feature suite-style living spaces which share common study areas on the second and third floors, as well as two kitchens to be shared by residents on all three floors. The three other residence halls, Xxxxxx, Xxxxxx and Xxxxxxx, feature apartment-style living spaces, with a kitchen per apartment. All five buildings are handicap accessible on each first floor level, and all five are sprinkled. New ‘smart card’ technology is used in the new residence halls, as well as the other halls on-campus.
