Case study approach. Case study methods are employed here as a supplementary research approach to provide additional context to the literature surveys, stakeholder analysis and other research activities in this study. All of these research methods have certain benefits and limitations, depending on three conditions: type of research question (or study objective); the control that the researcher has over events; and the focus on contemporary as opposed to historical phenomena. To that end, case studies are the preferred research method when [Yin2009]:
1) Questions of “how” and “why” are being posed,
2) The researcher has little control over events,
3) The focus is on contemporary phenomena within real-life contexts.
