Carriageways definition

Carriageways means that portion of the road right-of-way available for vehicular movement. Included are travelling lanes, medians, parking and other auxiliary lanes. Not included are ditches, sidewalks and other pedestrian areas;
Carriageways or “Alleyways” means the areas within Master Common Ares that are paved or intended to be paved or otherwise surfaced for use for vehicular access and maneuvering purposes, pedestrian access and walkway purposes for the benefit of the Owner and Occupants of Units located adjacent to the Carriageways and the invitees of such Owners and Occupants.

Examples of Carriageways in a sentence

  • Carriageways, with the exception of the wearing course but including a turning facility, highway drainage, visibility splays, street lighting, street nameplates and highway structures (if any).

  • Carriageways will generally be treated in the order of priority as specified in section 4.

  • Carriageways should be paved with cement concrete or asphalt concrete.

  • Carriageways shall be milled to the tolerance for surface levels specified in Clause 702 for binder course.

  • Also note that: • Subject to satisfactory test results the above frequency of testing may be reduced with the prior agreement of the Corridor Manager; • The Clegg hammer may be used for testing of general fill and base layers but not for the upper base layer of Carriageways; • Clegg hammer tests only indicate the compaction of the lift last laid of any backfill layer.

  • carriageway means a way constituting or comprised in a highway being a way (other than a cycle track) over which the public have a right of way for the passage of vehicles;

  • Stations means the Owned Stations and the Contract Stations.

  • Driveway means a vehicle access route between the carriageway of a road and a use on a parcel;

  • Pavement means any type of improved surface that is within the public right-of-way and that is paved or otherwise constructed with bituminous, concrete, aggregate, or gravel.

  • Roads means streets, roads, and highways.

  • Sidewalk means that portion of a street between the curb lines, or the lateral lines of a roadway, and the adjacent property lines intended for the use of pedestrians.

  • Garage shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Recital H;

  • Curb means the actual curb, if there is one, and if there is no curb in existence, it shall mean the division of a highway between the roadway and the sidewalk or boulevard as the case may be.

  • Campsite means any place where any bedding, sleeping bag, or other material used for bedding purposes, or any stove or fire is placed, established or maintained for the purpose of maintaining a temporary place to live, whether or not such place incorporates the use of any tent, lean-to, shack, or any other structure, or any vehicle or part thereof.

  • Outdoor or "outdoors" means in a place other than a building or covered vehicle.

  • Drainage means the removal of surface water or groundwater

  • Network Area means the 50 mile radius around the local school campus the Named Insured is attending.

  • Landscape waste means any vegetable or plant waste except garbage. The term includes trees, tree trimmings, branches, stumps, brush, weeds, leaves, grass, shrubbery, and yard trimmings.

  • CABS means the Carrier Access Billing System.

  • Bathroom means any room containing a built-in flush-type toilet.

  • Landscape means an area, as perceived by people, whose character is the result of the action and interaction of natural and/or human factors;

  • Amenities are those areas specifically set forth in the Rules and Regulations for the Community.
