Campus and Community. Old Dominion University is a state-assisted institution in Norfolk, Virginia, part of the metropolitan and historic Hampton Roads area with a population of 1.6 million people and is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the southeastern United States between Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia. Its economy is supported by the world's largest Naval Base, the east coast's second busiest trade port, a sophisticated defense contracting economy and a diversified tourist industry. Inc. magazine ranked Hampton Roads 13th on its "Best Place to Do Business in the U.S." and 22nd on its "Most Balanced Economy and Growth" lists. Hampton Roads' residents have a median household income of $46,320 and a median age of 33 years. With an unemployment rate 22% lower than the national rate (Mar. 2006), Hampton Roads' natural treasures such as waterways and beaches coupled with a young, robust, and active population makes for a strong and growing economy. Located about 200 miles south of Washington D.C., Old Dominion University is within minutes of the largest East Coast seaport, the oceanfront in Virginia Beach and the world’s largest Naval base. The University contributes approximately $600 million a year to the local economy. The main campus consists of 146 acres in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia located between the Lafayette and Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxx. The University is comprised of six colleges offering degrees in 64 Bachelors programs, 66 Masters program’s, and 22 Doctoral programs. The University currently enrolls approximately 21,300 full and part-time students, and has over 2,000 faculty and staff. Additionally, the University housing facilities accommodate approximately 3,300 resident students, with an anticipated growth of 900 by the Fall of 2007. The University has an alumni base of approximately 100,000 individuals, many of whom reside in the Hampton Roads region.

Members: Department chairpersons of all academic departments and Program Directors of all individually accredited academic programs. Council of Deans: Shares information about mutual problems for the purpose of effecting solutions; works cooperatively with other administrators, faculty, and students; makes formal recommendations when necessary in any and all areas of campus and academic life to the appropriate person or body including but not limited to the President, Xxxxxxx, Curriculum Committee, and Faculty Senate. Members: the Xxxxxxx and the academic college and school deans. Distance Education: Provides leadership and oversight for all eLearning (online learning/distance learning). Supports the Office of eLearning and maintains compliance with WLU policy and the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement as well as benchmarking performance against the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions’ Interregional Guidelines for the Evaluation of Distance Education. Chaired by the Director of Distance Education, membership includes faculty representatives from each college and school, Office of eLearning staff, and a student selected by Student Government. Faculty Development: Meets regularly to manage available faculty development funds. Responsibilities include establishment of guidelines, approval of requests for funding professional activities, and dissemination of information related to faculty development.   • SECTION 109 OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 The Contractor shall comply with the provisions of Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. No person in the United States shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity funded in whole or in part with funds made available under this title. Section 109 further provides that discrimination on the basis of age under the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 or with respect to an otherwise qualified handicapped individual as provided in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, is prohibited.

  • Management; Community Policies Owner may retain employees and management agents from time to time to manage the Property, and Owner’s agent may retain other employees or contractors. Resident, on behalf of himself or herself and his or her Guests, agrees to comply fully with all directions from Owner and its employees and agents, and the rules and regulations (including all amendments and additions thereto, except those that substantially modify the Resident’s bargain and to which Resident timely objects) as contained in this Agreement and the Community Policies of the Property.   • Residence Community Living Standards The Residence Community Living Standards (“RCLS”) forms a part of this Agreement. It details the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of Residents as well as the residence conduct process. Each Resident is responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to the terms outlined within the RCLS. The Manager and the Institution may amend the terms of the RCLS from time to time and may post the amendments in the Residence. Failure to abide by the RCLS may result in eviction from Residence and termination of this Agreement as per the violations and sanctions outlined in the RCLS, and as stated in section 8.01(d).   • Agreement Administration and Communications A. Under this Agreement, either of the representatives of the Judicial Council identified below will monitor the Work and act as the Judicial Council’s liaisons with the Contractor:

  • Citizen Volunteer or Community Service Leave Leave without pay may be granted for community volunteerism or service.

  • Extended Health Care Plan (a) The Employer shall pay the monthly premium for regular employees entitled to coverage under a mutually acceptable Extended Health Care Plan.

  • Consideration of Criminal History in Hiring and Employment Decisions 10.14.1 Contractor agrees to comply fully with and be bound by all of the provisions of Chapter 12T, “City Contractor/Subcontractor Consideration of Criminal History in Hiring and Employment Decisions,” of the San Francisco Administrative Code (“Chapter 12T”), including the remedies provided, and implementing regulations, as may be amended from time to time. The provisions of Chapter 12T are incorporated by reference and made a part of this Agreement as though fully set forth herein.   • Pension and Employee Benefits 4.1.23.1 Purchaser and each of its subsidiaries have complied in all material respects, with the terms of all agreements, health, welfare, supplemental unemployment benefit, bonus, profit sharing, deferred compensation, stock purchase, stock compensation, disability, pension or retirement plans and other employee or director compensation or benefit plans, policies or arrangements which are maintained by or binding upon Purchaser or such subsidiary or in respect of which Purchaser or any of its subsidiaries has any actual or potential liability (collectively, the “Purchaser Plans”) and with all applicable Laws relating thereto.
