Cafeteria Duty. Cafeteria duty will involve the assignment of one teacher at a time, and at the administration’s discretion may involve the assignment of two teachers at a time to supervise children in the cafeteria. The supervising teacher’s duties will include assisting any teacher assistants who are present as needed, and being visible and present in the cafeteria.

Cafeteria Duty. Cafeteria duty shall be assigned on a voluntary basis to the extent that this is possible. No teacher shall be involuntarily assigned cafeteria duty for more than two consecutive years. Every attempt shall be made to distribute this assignment equally among all teachers.
Cafeteria Duty. A professional staff member at the Middle School or the High School may be assigned cafeteria supervision duty for one (1) period during not more than one-half (1/2) of the school year.

Cafeteria Duty. Current practice with respect to cafeteria supervision in the High School shall be maintained. In the Grade and Elementary Schools, teachers shall no longer be required to patrol the cafeteria, maintain order on lines, line up children to leave or enter the cafeteria or use the public address system to line up the children or maintain order. However, it is agreed to have one (1) teacher during each lunch period designated on duty in the Student Cafeteria who shall be required to supervise the cafeteria monitors. The schedule for this duty shall be the responsibility of the building principals.
Cafeteria Duty. The District may solicit teacher volunteers through posting to provide coverage for supervising student lunch periods. A minimum of two (2) monitors will be utilized where the number of students in that lunch period exceeds one hundred twenty (120). Where necessary, as determined by the District, two (2) or more monitors may be utilized during any lunch period. The District will schedule individuals for this duty on a rotating basis. The Association and the District will mutually determine the rotation process. The District shall compensate each teacher who serves as a lunch period supervisor at a rate of sixteen dollars ($16) per thirty (30) minutes pro rata. Daily instructional and supervisory minutes of teachers who serve as lunch period supervisors will not be diminished, as teachers will volunteer for this duty. Such duty will be in addition to any and all student contact time specified in ARTICLE 7 Work day, Workload, Work Year, Section 2(B)(3) and all other parts of this contract. Teachers who agree to this duty may terminate their service with fifteen (15) school days written notice to the Superintendent prior to the conclusion of the semester.
