Common use of Breaks and Lunch Clause in Contracts

Breaks and Lunch. (A) Two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest breaks and one (1) thirty (30) minute lunch period shall be authorized per work day. One rest break shall be taken in the first half of the shift and the other break shall be taken in the second half of the shift. In addition, employees working a regularly scheduled twelve (12) hour shift shall receive one (1) additional fifteen (15) minute rest break, to be taken during the last four (4) hours of the shift.

On days where employees are required to work beyond eleven (11) hours, an additional five (5) minute break will be taken at the end of eleven (11) hours unless at the end of eleven (11) hours, the shift is over.
