Bloodborne Pathogens. The parties will continue support of the National Sharps Safety Committee (NSSC), chartered by the Labor Management Partnership to pursue the goal of selecting and recommending the provision of the safest sharps safety devices. In the event of an issue or disagreement arising out of National Product Council actions regarding a recommendation from the NSSC, the appropriate problem-solving processes under Section 1.L. of the Agreement may be utilized.

Bloodborne Pathogens. Provider shall adhere to California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL- OSHA) regulations and guidelines pertaining to bloodborne pathogens.
Bloodborne Pathogens. The District shall in all regards, including (without limitation) the initial training of new teachers, the retraining of existing teachers, and the provision of appropriate equipment, devices and supplies (e.g. gloves, disinfectant, etc.), comply with all applicable OSHA standards pertaining to occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens in an educational setting. The full cost of such compliance shall be borne by the District.
Bloodborne Pathogens. An employee will be given the opportunity to receive Hepatitis B tests/vaccine, and the Board will pay any deductible costs after the employee’s insurance has paid the amount covered. The Board will honor the request and pay for any employee who believes and can substantiate he/she may be in danger and requests the Hepatitis B tests/vaccine. The Board will make an effort to protect the employees from exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the work place.
