BF-BOF Clause Samples

The BF-BOF clause, which stands for 'Best and Final Offer,' is used in procurement and contract negotiations to request that bidders submit their most competitive and final proposal. Typically, after initial rounds of negotiation or bidding, the contracting party will invoke this clause to signal that no further revisions or negotiations will be entertained, and that the next offer submitted should reflect the bidder's absolute best terms, including price and conditions. This clause ensures a fair and transparent process by prompting all parties to put forward their optimal offer, thereby streamlining decision-making and helping the contracting party select the most advantageous proposal.
BF-BOF. (/BF-OHF) route: The steelmaking starts with the supplying from mining companies of the raw materials that are mainly iron ore (lump ore or fine ore)l, coal for coking, and mineral aggregates. When the raw materials arrive in the steel ▇▇▇▇▇, it starts an integrated process that consists in: i) Raw material preparation, with sintering or pelletizing raw materials; ii) Ironmaking, the production of hot metal with the prepared raw materials via Blast Furnace; iii) Steelmaking, the production of crude steel with the hot metal and recycled steel via BOF (or OHF). The BF-BOF route is the most used way for steel production and represents about 70% of the world steel production. A variation of this process is the use of a smelting reduction (SR-BOF) route, which is based on the combustion of coal for the reduction of iron ores with or without agglomeration, but which currently covers only 0.4% of world production of the steel43 and for this reason it won’t be deepened.
