Benefits Trust. The benefits of this Article shall be administered by the Union Benefits Trust. In the event benefit plans are extended to non-state employee groups, the Trust will establish appropriate separate accounting practices to clearly identify fund impacts. Except for established payroll deductions for programs and organizations in effect on the effective date of this Agreement, along with any deductions, no additional payroll deductions for dues, fees or contributions shall be provided to any individual or organization without the prior written consent of the Union and the Employer.

The Parties have agreed to participate in the Public Education Benefits Trust (PEBT) and to place their dental, extended health and group life insurance coverage specified in this Article with the PEBT. The Parties have further agreed to participate in the government funded “Core” long-term disability plan and the Joint Early Intervention Service provided through the PEBT.

X0X 0X0 Dear Xxxxx: Estoppel Notice – Clause 17.3 – Benefits Trust This letter is notice regarding Clause 17.3 of the collective agreement between the Burnaby Board of Education (the “Employer”) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 379. Effective with the signing of the next collective agreement, the Employer will apply Clause 17.3 of the collective agreement in accordance with the requirements of the Public Education Benefits Trust (“PEBT”). Support staff employees must be in compliance with and fully participate in the government-funded “CORE” long-term disability plan and the Joint Early Intervention Service (“JEIS”) provided through the PEBT. This notice of estoppels recognizes that both parties have jointly identified a need for the Employer to improve wellness and absence management. Full participation by all support staff employees will improve the JEIS and will assist support staff workers to get well and to return to work. Through agreement, the parties are xxxxxxx about participation in the above-noted plan. Employees who do not fully participate in the JEIS program will be subject to follow up by the Employer and appropriate actions will be taken to ensure full participation; these actions may impact an employee’s access to sick banks.
