Benefits During Leave. An employee on a leave of absence who uses less than eight (8) hours of paid leave during a month is responsible for paying the entire premium cost (both the University and employee shares) of his or her health insurance during an approved leave of absence.

Benefits During Leave. A nurse on an unpaid leave of absence will not continue to accrue benefits during that leave, but there shall be no loss of previously accrued benefits if the nurse returns to work as scheduled at the end of the allowed leave. To the extent allowed by the applicable insurance policy, a nurse desiring insurance benefits to continue during a leave of absence may do so by paying the full premium to the Employer monthly in advance unless otherwise provided by law for a family or medical leave.
Benefits During Leave. The Employer will continue to pay the Employer's portion of an employee's health insurance premiums for an eligible employee during the period the employee is on leave for any of the reasons under Subsections A(1)-(4) above. In all other circumstances, the Employer will not continue to pay health insurance premiums for an employee on an unpaid leave of absence. The employee may continue insurance coverage at his/her own expense during any unpaid leave of absence. The employee will not accumulate paid sick or annual leave nor be paid for holidays which may fall during the period of unpaid leave. If the employee fails to return after the leave has expired due to circumstances within the employee's control, the Employer may recover from the employee any premiums which the Employer paid to maintain medical coverage during the leave.
