Bed Utilization. The Department shall track, monitor, and report on the CSB’s utilization of state hospital and training center beds and provide data to the CSB about individuals receiving services from its service area who are served in state hospitals and training centers as permitted under 45 CFR §§ 164.506 (c) (1), (2), and (4) and 164.512
Bed Utilization. Allow utilization of beds certified as skilled for utilization of intermediate patients/residents when appropriate.
Bed Utilization. ICA will regularly calculate and review bed utilization data. Organizations with a project with utilization under 85% or over 110% will be contacted by ICA for more information to verify that this utilization is accurate for the time period, which will be shared with the relevant CoC. If the utilization is not correct, the organization will work with ICA to ensure that all clients who were served in the time period are entered into the project (remedying under-utilization) and that all clients who were exited in the time period are exited from the project (remedying over-utilization). ICA will also review bed utilization regularly with the Alaska HMIS Advisory Board. 8 DATA QUALITY IMPROVEMENT The Alaska HMIS Advisory Board will work with ICA to ensure HMIS-participating organizations have access to all the support and tools they need to achieve a high level of data quality within HMIS. The following processes are designed to demonstrate to organizations the importance of data quality within HMIS, and encourage its prioritization within their daily functions.

The Department shall distribute reports to CSB on state hospital and training center bed utilization by the CSB for all types of beds (adult, geriatric, child, and adolescent, and forensic) and for TDO admissions and bed day utilization. In addition, the Department and the CSB shall work jointly to identify or develop other mechanisms, as appropriate, that will be employed collaboratively by the CSB and the state hospitals to manage the utilization of state hospital beds.
