FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS Financial instruments carried at fair value Fair value hierarchy The fair value measurements are categorised into different levels in the fair value hierarchy based on the inputs to valuation techniques used. The different levels are defined as follows: • Level 1: quoted prices (unadjusted) in active markets for identical assets or liabilities that the Group can access at the measurement date. • Level 2: inputs other than quoted prices included within Level 1 that are observable for the asset or liability, either directly or indirectly. • Level 3: unobservable inputs for the asset or liability. For disclosure purpose, the Group determines Level 2 fair values for traded debentures have been determined based on quoted selling prices from the Thai Bond Market Association that were not difference with fair value at the year end. For disclosure purposes, the Group determines Level 3 fair values for fair values of investment property is carried based on valuations by independent values. Fair value is measured by discounted cash flow projections which reflects rental income from current leases and assumptions about rental income from future leases in the light of current market conditions. COMMITMENT AND CONTINGENT LIABILITIES As at March 31, 2012, the Company had lease and service agreements for office premise and branches for a period of 3 to 6 years. Under the agreements, the Company is committed to pay a monthly rental and service fee of Baht 20.49 million. In addition, the Company can renew the contract upon the end of the term. If the contract is not renewed, the Company has to demolish and restore the space back to the same condition before returning the rental space. As at March 31, 2012 and December 31, 2011, the Company had the balance of refundable deposits from rental places and equipment and others in the total amount of Baht 95.18 million and 91.82 million, respectively. At the maturity date, the security money will be refunded to the Company after deducting the expenses as specified in the contract. As at March 31, 2012 December 31, 2011, the Company had the letter of guarantee issued by a financial institution to secure the purchase of goods with 2 local companies in the amount of Baht 1.50 million and Baht 1.50 million, respectively, of each company.
