BASIC DOCUMENTS GOVERNING THE COLLABORATION. 3.1. The following documents shall constitute the formal basis for the Experiment: 3.1.1. the EXPERIMENTAL PROPOSAL, after its approval by the CERN Research Board on the recommendation of the Experiment Committee dealing with the appropriate part of the physics programme (the “Experiment Committee”); 3.1.2. the TECHNICAL DESIGN REPORTS, where appropriate; 3.1.3. the MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (the “MoU”), which sets out the detailed arrangements specific to the Experiment and which shall be agreed and signed by CERN as Host Laboratory and by the Collaborating Institutions, for the purpose of signature represented, as the case may be, by their Funding Agencies5. Through the signature of the MoU, the Collaborating Institutions accept its terms;
