Back Up Positions. The Company will post plant wide bids for the number of Back Up positions required for the following areas: Quality 1 Mold Shop 1 Recycler 1 Stores First/Aid 1 Cycle Count 1 Materials 1 The parties agree to red-circle current screen room back up position for the life of the Collective Agreement. The bid will state “Back Up Only”. This process will follow the same procedures as outlined in Article 12.02, save for the qualifications required for a Mold Shop position.

a) To be eligible for the Responder Back-up position an employee must be from the department area and shift for which they will be the back-up.

Employees who require a ticket to function in their classification and/or are in the apprenticeship program will not be eligible to bid on non-ticketed back-up positions. Only one Backup position can be held by an employee at any time. An employee may not bid into a Backup position where the incumbent of that position is already his/her Backup. An employee who is a Backup for a position will receive that rate of pay for that position while performing those duties.

(b) Employees selected for such positions will receive training and then will be temporarily assigned or transferred, when required, for the period needed in that position.
