AXES Sample Clauses

AXES. A great deal of effort has gone into making axes drawing and scaling as painless as possible. The X- and Y- intercepts of the axes are adjustable (intercepts are values of X and Y at the point of X- and Y-axes intersection), as well as tick mark spacing. The easiest way of building a graph involves using the WGAutoAxes function. It will analyze a set of (X, Y) data and automatically choose the appropriate axes scaling. WGAutoAxes will also make sure that the tick marks are positioned at the round numbers, making the graph easy to read. You still can specify many options affecting the way your graph will look. Many additional auto scaling functions have been added to revision 3.0. If more control over axes is required, the graph can be drawn by directly choosing the X- and Y-intercepts (WGSetXYIntercepts), scaling the plotting area to the exact ranges (WGScalePlotArea), drawing the X- and Y-axes with the specified number of tick marks (WGDrawXAxis, WGDrawYAxis) and labeling the major tick marks (WGLabelAxis). This procedure can be repeated if multiple axes with different ranges are required in the same graph. Graphical objects based on a given pair of axes must be created before the plotting area is rescaled for different ranges. See BARDEMO for an example of a graph with two independent Y axes. Titles and Labels Each graph can have a main title that is centered at the top of the graph. Every axis can have a title that is positioned parallel to it. In addition, an axis can have numerical or text labels positioned next to major tick marks. It is also possible to add other text strings to a graph . They can be positioned and oriented exactly as desired.
