There shall be no more than twenty (20) agents, brokers or companies designated for payroll deduction at any one time.
E. The Board agrees to automatic payroll deduction, as a condition of employment, of an amount equal to the total dues of the Association from the pay of all Bargaining Unit Members who elect not to become members of the Association, on behalf or who elect not to remain members. The Treasurer of itself and on behalf the Board shall, upon notification from the Association that a member has terminated membership, commence the check-off of OEA/NEA, shall indemnify the Board, its membersfair share fee with respect to the former member, and the Board’s amount of the fee yet to be deducted shall be the annual membership dues less the amount previously paid through payroll deduction. Payroll deduction of such fair share fees shall begin the first paycheck on or after January 15 of each year. Dues rates and fair share fee rates shall be transmitted by the Association to the Treasurer and Superintendent (all hereinafter, “of the indemnitees”), forBoard for the purpose of determining amounts to be payroll-deducted, and hold them harmless fromthe Board agrees to promptly transmit all amounts deducted to the Association. The Board further agrees to accompany each such transmittal with a list of names of Bargaining Unit Members for whom all such deductions were made, any the period covered and all liabilitythe amounts for each. Upon timely demand, damages and expenses, including but not limited non-members may appeal to legal fees at customary rates in the community and costs, directly or indirectly incurred Association the payment of the fair share fee pursuant to the internal procedure adopted by the indemnitees, Association or any such nonmembers may submit such appeals as provided by law. The amount to be deducted from the pay of them because of any legal action or administrative claim brought against them all non-Association members shall be the total dues as a result paid by members of the deduction Association, and such deductions shall continue through the remaining number of any union dues and/or feespayroll periods after January 15.

Bargaining unit members must submit a written authorization for payroll deductions on a form provided by the LHEA to the Treasurer on or before September 30 of any year the unit member begins payroll deductions under this agreement. The LHEA Treasurer shall notify the Board Treasurer of the amount of dues payable to each LHEA member by September 30.
2. Deductions shall be in equal amounts and Superintendent (all hereinafter, “shall be deducted for the indemnitees”), for, and hold them harmless from, any and all liability, damages and expenses, including but not limited to legal fees at customary rates balance of the pays in the community and costs, directly or indirectly incurred by contract year. 2. There Deductions shall be no more than twenty (20) agents, brokers or companies designated in equal amounts and shall be deducted for payroll deduction at any one timethe balance of the pays in the contract year. Deductions shall be forwarded to the appropriate agencies within the month in which they are deducted.
E. The Association, on behalf of itself and on behalf of OEA/NEA, LHEA shall indemnify and save the Board harmless against and from any and all claims, demands, or suits that may arise out of, or by reason of action taken by the Board, for the purpose of complying with Article XXI. Without limiting the foregoing, claims by the Association of a violation of Article XXI shall be fully enforceable under the grievance provisions of this Contract. The LHEA shall extend to the Board the right to designate its members, and the Board’s Treasurer and Superintendent (all hereinafter, “the indemnitees”), for, and hold them harmless from, any and all liability, damages and expenses, including but not limited own counsel to legal fees at customary rates assist in the community and costs, directly or indirectly incurred defense in addition to allowing the Board the right to waive indemnification by the indemnitees, or LHEA at any of them because of any legal action or administrative claim brought against them as a result of the deduction of any union dues and/or feestime and provide its own defense.
