Xxxxxxx agrees to attend the event if selected. If a student is selected and unable to attend, the music teacher is required to notify FEMEA Chair, President, and Executive Director by October 10, and give the reason for not attending. The Executive Committee will then rule the absenteeism to be excused or not excused. Unexcused absences may result in disqualification of a school’s eligibility to participate in Regional Festival ensembles in the following year. Last minute emergencies will be handled on a “case by case” basis. We request that individual students pay their school or booster organization and the school or boosters pay for all their participants with one check. The audition fee is not refundable.  The audition will consist of major scales, the chromatic scale, a prepared piece, and sight- reading.  High School Students who do not make the band by audition, or did not audition at all, may still be able to participate in a second 9-12 High School Honor Band by nomination.
