Attendance Gratuity definition

Attendance Gratuity is an amount computed by multiplying one-half (1/2) of the number of days of an employee’s accumulated attendance credits by the annual salary to which he/she was entitled at the date he/she ceased to be an employee and dividing the product by 260.8928.

Examples of Attendance Gratuity in a sentence

  • The total amount paid to an employee in respect of an Attendance Gratuity or Severance Pay shall not exceed the annual salary of the employee at the date when ceased to be an employee.

  • An employee who has completed one (1) year of continuous service and who ceases to be an employee by reason of: death; retirement with eligibility for a pension pursuantto the Ontario Public Service Employees Union Pension Plan; termination due to inability to perform duties by reason of mental or physical incapacity with eligibility for a disability pension under the Pension Plan; layoff; is entitled to receive Severance Pay or an Attendance Gratuity, whichever is greater.
