The 'Associate Librarian' clause defines the role, responsibilities, and status of an individual holding the title of Associate Librarian within an organization or institution. Associate Librarian. In order to be considered for appointment or promotion to the rank of Associate Librarian the candidate must have a record of successful performance as an Assistant Librarian exercising independent judgment and creativity, i.e. must have demonstrated continuing significant achievement at the career level of librarianship. The candidate should have a record of: Advanced study and research in library and information science and/or in an appropriate subject specialization, or relevant experience judged to be of equal value; evidence of continuing scholarly contributions in the form of publications and/or presentations. Evidence of broad professional concern and achievement as well as consistent service to the library and University, or service to the community, where the individual has made an essentially nonremunerative contribution by virtue of special professional/academic competence. This participation or service may be demonstrated by: significant service to the library and the University through participation in library and University policy-making and planning bodies, committees, task forces, etc.; substantial involvement in professional activities and participation in professional organizations.
Associate Librarian. Librarian who has earned a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution, and a minimum of three (3) years’ full-time work experience as a Librarian, plus a minimum of two (2) years’ full-time work experience at TCC as an Assistant Librarian. All prior evaluations from TCC must be the equivalent of satisfactory or better or meets requirements.
Associate Librarian. A master's degree in library science, information science, or information studies from an accredited ALA institution or an equivalent graduate degree acceptable to recommending authorities in an area specifically related to library functions and an additional equivalent graduate degree in a field appropriate to library functions which is acceptable to recommending authorities; research or scholarly achievement as demonstrated by a publication record in recognized professional and/or academic journals, and/or recognition by learned societies or professional library associations for demonstrated leadership or achievements; and six years of successful, full-time professional library experience in a college, university or research library with at least two years of such experience at the rank of Assistant Librarian or higher;
Associate Librarian. The criteria for the rank of Associate Librarian in addition to the prerequisites for Assistant Librarian are normally three (3) years or more of professional library service and demonstrated excellent in professional responsibilities and service to the University, the profession, or the community.
Associate Librarian. Associate Librarian. The rank of Associate Librarian applies to Librarian Faculty who have held the rank of Assistant Librarian (or an equivalent role at another institution) for a minimum of 5 years and demonstrated continuing professional growth. This includes consistently satisfactory or higher annual performance reviews (e.g., “Achieving” under ratings in place on the effective date of this Agreement, or comparable performance at another institution) for the 5 successive years prior to applying for the Associate Librarian rank. Associate Librarians must demonstrate increasing initiative, creativity, and leadership in carrying out job responsibilities within their department and within NUL as a whole, consistently superior performance of job responsibilities, and the ability to operate independently within the sphere of specific job assignment(s) as well as part of a team in pursuing NUL strategic goals. Associate Librarians must have a record of demonstrated professional accomplishments, including at least one significant contribution as set forth in Section 3(B)(2) of this Article and at least two other notable contributions as set forth in Section 3(B)(2) or 3(B)(3).
Associate Librarian. Ordinarily, the minimum requirement is a master’s degree in library science and acceptable professional experience of at least eight (8) years or a second graduate degree and six (6) years of successful full-time experience in a collegiate library.
Associate Librarian m. the degree of Master of Library Science (MLS) or an equivalent Master’s degree, including the degree of Master of Library Science and Information Science (MLSIS), from, in all cases, an institution accredited to grant such degrees by the American Library Association;
