Assistant Chief a. If the grievance is not settled under Step 1, it may be appealed in writing to the Human Resources Director within fourteen (14) calendar days after receipt of the written decision from Step 1. Within fourteen (14) calendar days after receipt of the written grievance appeal the appropriate Assistant Chief shall meet with the grievant and his/her representative. Within fourteen (14) calendar days thereafter, a written decision shall be given to the grievant and his/her representative.
Assistant Chief. All other Township Employees In the event a new classification is created and the parties disagree as to whether such position should be included or excluded from the bargaining unit, the dispute shall be settled by the State Employment Relations Board.
Assistant Chief. Upon vacancy, up to two (2) Assistant Chief positions may be filled by an internal or external candidate by appointment by the Department head pursuant to the process provided for in Section 143.014(e) of the Texas Local Government Code or proceed to an external appointment. The following criteria applies to appointments for Assistant Chief:

Assistant Chief. 2. Collision Investigator (advanced level or higher, not the officer who investigated the collision)
Assistant Chief. The City may create and appoint up to two Assistant Chief positions.
Assistant Chief. If the EMS Coordinator becomes certified as a fire fighter in accordance with Section (5)(f)(3)(c) of this section, he shall serve at the pleasure of the Fire Chief and may be demoted without cause to the classification of Lieutenant within the Medical Division of the Fire Department.
