Arrangement of Agreement. 4.1 How this agreement is arranged – background This agreement is based on the Metal, Engineering and associated Industries Award 1998 Due to the changes in the workplace Relations act 1996 which commenced in March 2006, the role of awards has been reduced significantly. To maintain certain provisions of an award the relevant terms must be spelled out in full in an agreement if they are to apply. For this reason , this agreement has become a larger document.
