Arbitration Filing Procedure. If a satisfactory settlement is not reached through the grievance procedure outlined in Article 3, the grievance may be referred by The City or by the Union to an Arbitration Board for final and binding settlement. The party submitting the grievance to arbitration will advise the other party of their intent to proceed to arbitration and name their nominee to the Arbitration Board within thirty (30) calendar days of the date the decision of Step Three of the grievance procedure is received.
