Common use of Approval Period Clause in Contracts

Approval Period. 15.01 The Union acknowledges that a 580 hour probationary period shall exist as a trial period within which Management reserves the right to fully appraise new employees and further recognizes that such employees may be terminated for reasons somewhat less serious than would justify the termination of an approved employee. 15.02 An employee who successfully completes the 580 hour probationary period will become an approved employee. As an approved employee, he or she may then participate in the various benefit programmes of the Company which require approval. It is understood that certain of these benefit plans do not become effective until the first of the month following the employee's approval date.
