APPOINTMENT IN A HIGHER CLASS. 249. An employee or officer who is a permanent appointee following completion of the probationary period or 2,080 hours of permanent service, and who is appointed to a position in a higher classification, either permanent or temporary, deemed to be promotive by the MTA’s Department of Human Resources shall have his/her salary adjusted to that step in the promotive class as follows:
