Any difficulties in this regard shall be submitted to the Implementation Committee for resolution.

APPENDIX OF LOCAL ISSUES. ARTICLE A RECOGNITION The Hospital recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining agent for all employees of the Kingston General Hospital, save and except supervisors and persons above the rank of supervisor, staff of Human Resources, Administration (ten (10) persons) President and Chief Executive Officer (two (2) persons); one (1) secretary for each of the following: Manager, Nursing Staffing, Director, Accounting Services; Director, Financial Planning and Analyses; Project Co-ordinator; Directors of Nursing (up to four (4) persons); professional staff and laboratory, Allergy, Echo, and radiology technicians, students, security guards, and all persons regularly employed less than and one-half (22 hours per week. All Letters of Understanding and Letters of Intent as appended hereto, shall be appended to the renewed Appendices of Local Issues and shall replace all existing such appendages in the expired Collective Agreements.
APPENDIX OF LOCAL ISSUES. The general purpose of this Agreement is to establish end collective bargaining relations between the Hospital and the employees covered by this Agreement; to providefor ongoingmeans of communicationbetween the Union and the Hospital and the prompt disposition of grievances and the final settlement of disputes and to establish and maintain mutually wages, hours of work and other conditions of employment in accordancewith the provisions of this Agreement. It is recognized that the employees wish to work efficiently together with the Hospital to secure the best possible care and health protection for patients. Wherever the feminine pronoun is used in this Agreement, it includes the masculine pronoun and vice versa where the context so requires. Employees may be hired for a specific term not to exceed six (6)months, to replace an employee who will be on approved leave of absence, absence due to disability, sick leave, long disability or to perform a special non-recurring task. This term may be extended a further six months on mutual agreement of the Union, employee and Hospital. The period of employment of such persons will not exceed the absentee's leave. The release or discharge of such persons not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration. clause would not preclude such employees from using the job posting provision under the collective agreement and any successfulapplicant who has completed his probation period be credited with the appropriate seniority. The Hospital will outline to employeesselected to fill such temporary and the Union, the circumstances giving rise to the vacancy, and the special conditions relating to such employment. The parties agree that there shall be no within the meaning of the Ontario Human Rights Code against any employee by the Union or the Hospital by reason of race, creed, colour, age, sex, marital status, nationality, ancestry or place of origin, status, handicap, sexual orientation, political affiliation or activity, or place of residence. The Hospitaland the Union further agree that there will be no discrimination, interference, restraint or coercion exercised or practised by either of them or representatives or members, because of an employee's membership or non-membership in a Union or because of activity or lack of activity in the Union.
