APPENDIX D MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SUBJECT: IF A REDUCTION OF PERMANENT EMPLOYEES. It is understood and agreed that in the event of a reduction of permanent Employees, the Employer shall provide the Union at least three (3) months’ notice. The Parties agree to meet within ten (10) working days of receipt of such notice for the purpose of minimizing any adverse effects upon the Employees involved. Such discussion shall include the implementation of an Early Retirement Incentive Program and/or other recognized voluntary leaving incentive programs as an alternative to layoffs. Nothing in this Appendix commits the Employer to offering any program should the Employer not deem it appropriate to do so.
