AND PROMOTION. (a) A new employee hired for Fire Suppression shall be classified as a Probationer until the probationary period is completed, at which time he shall be classified as a Fourth Class Fire Fighter. A new employee hired as an Alarm Room Operator shall be classified as a Probationer until the probationary period is completed at which time, if he successfully completes examinations that may be required, he shall be classified as a Third Class Alarm Room Operator. For promotional and salary change purposes from time of commencement of employment with the Department, the following examination procedure shall apply: The examinations shall consist of personal assessment, oral, practical and written examinations as defined below for each classification.
