Sign Date I understand that once the dog has settled in his personality may change and therefore I should NEVER trust a dog ALONE around a CHILD. Sign Date Encourage the Dogue De Bordeaux to respect children by ensuring that you are in full control of all situations when children are around and by teaching the Dogue De Bordeaux that children are under your leadership, not theirs. Encourage the Dogue De Bordeaux to respect that all children are under your protection, but you must also ensure that the Dogue De Bordeaux is protected from possible abuse in the form of inappropriate handling, i.e. sitting on, jumping, pulling, hitting etc. Even dogs that appear to 'love' the attention often show extremely subtle signs of not coping that only professional canine behaviour specialists can detect. If at any time the Dogue De Bordeaux appears to show any signs of excitement, distress, aggression, uneasiness or dominance, immediately and calmly remove the child from their presence, isolate the dog safely if possible.
