ALL LEAVES. 5.40.4 The composition of the workload of Members may vary with their discipline, and will take into account the capabilities of the Members, the need to maximize their potential and any obligations placed on them within the University's operations, consistent with the terms of this Collective Agreement. In the assignment of teaching loads, the Deans, in consultation with the Departments/Schools, shall consider not only the number of courses taught by a Member, but the size and type of such courses as well as administrative and other duties. Members’ workloads shall also be subject to the following maximum norms for assigned workloads.

ALL LEAVES. Where possible, persons on leaves will be assigned their former position and school. If this is not possible, they will be assigned to a comparable position within the District.
ALL LEAVES. ‌ Any teacher whose leave request is denied for any reason shall have the right to redress, to speak on his/her behalf before the Board or committee designated for this purpose by the Board.

All requests for leave under this section must be submitted in writing to the employee's immediate supervisor or department head and shall be answered in writing within three (3) working days. Requests for leaves under this section shall be answered before the end of the shift on which the request is made.

Where there is a Leave provided for in this Collective Agreement that is the same or of a similar nature to that found in the ESA, it is understood that any such Leave will be taken concurrently. The Employer agrees to abide by the legislation where the Employer is required to continue any contributions and/or remittances to an Employee’s Benefits as required by the ESA. Members working on out-of-town jobs where room and board are provided, or where members return home daily, will be eligible for leave. Where such leave is taken on out- of-town jobs the member will receive their fare both ways. No Employee will be laid off or otherwise adversely affected in their employment because of such leave. When an Employee is able to return to work, the Employee will be employed without delay.
ALL LEAVES. The Federation acknowledges that the Federation and the Committee are subject to the provisions of the FMLA. Where an employee takes leave under one of the aforementioned articles for a reason which would entitle an employee to leave under the FMLA, such leave will also be considered FMLA leave and will be deducted from the employee's statutory FMLA leave entitlement. FMLA leave is not cumulative and is not in addition to leaves currently available to the extent such leaves are for reasons covered by the FMLA. FMLA shall run concurrently with any other eligible leave approved that is for an FMLA qualifying condition.

  • General Leaves When no other leaves are available, a leave of absence may be granted to an employee on a paid or unpaid basis at any time upon any terms acceptable to the District and an employee.

  • Sabbatical Leaves 49. Members taking their first Sabbatical Leave after a probationary period at The University of Western Ontario shall receive 90.0% of their Base Salary; Members taking their second or subsequent Sabbatical Leave from The University of Western Ontario shall receive 85.0% of their Base Salary.

  • General Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee requesting leave for an emergency or other unusual circumstances. A leave of absence may also be granted for any other reason in which case approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. All requests and approvals for leave shall be in writing. Upon request, the Employer will give reasons orally for withholding approval.

  • Civil Leave Section 1. The Employer recognizes the responsibility of its employees to fulfill their civic duties as jurors and witnesses in court proceedings. The Employer agrees therefore to grant civil leave with pay to permanent employees:

  • Maternity Leave (a) An employee is entitled to maternity leave of up to 17 weeks without pay.
