Additional Work Assignments. Employees shall be offered overtime/extra time opportunities on the basis of seniority within their classification of work (head custodians shall be included in the custodial classification). Employees shall be offered overtime/extra time opportunities on the basis of seniority within their building first and then seniority within the classification. Overtime/extra time shall not be offered to a substitute until an attempt has been made to offer it to every employee within the classification, except in case of emergency. All overtime/extra time must be approved in advance by the employee's direct supervisor. In the event all employees within the classification decline the overtime/extra time opportunity, the supervisor may assign the work to an employee within that classification. All overtime/extra time must be approved in advance by the employee's direct supervisor.
