Common use of Additional License Rights Clause in Contracts

Additional License Rights. The contractor and its subcontractors are not required to provide the Government additional rights to use, modify, reproduce, release, perform, display, or disclose technical data or computer software. However, if the Government desires to obtain additional rights in technical data or computer software, the contractor agrees to promptly enter into negotiations with the Contracting Officer to determine whether acceptable terms for transferring such rights can be reached. All technical data and computer software in which the contractor grants the Government additional rights shall be listed or described in a special license agreement made part of this contract. The license shall specifically enumerate the additional rights granted the Government.
