Activity During Working Hours. Employees shall, after giving appropriate notice to their supervisor, be allowed reasonable time off during regular working hours, with pay, to attend grievance hearings or meetings called and agreed to by the Employer, provided such employees are entitled or required to attend such meetings by virtue of being Union representatives, witnesses or grievants, and such attendance does not substantially interfere with the Employer's operations.

Activity During Working Hours. When grievance meetings, labor management meetings and meetings of committees established by this contract are held at the Employer’s request during working hours, then employees shall be paid for such time. This includes attendance at such meet- ings by employees acting as Union representatives, stewards, witnesses or grievants. Nothing shall prevent the Employer from holding such meetings outside of working hours.

Section 7 - Labor Council Negotiating Team‌ The Employer agrees to allow no more than two (2) employees to attend negotiations without loss of pay. The Employer shall not otherwise be obligated for wages or subsistence expenses for any employees except as described above.

For the avoidance of doubt, it is agreed that the Contractor shall at all times be responsible for ensuring safe operation of the Project Highway. It is further agreed that in the event the Project includes construction of a bypass or tunnel and realignment of the existing carriageway, the Contractor shall maintain the existing highway in such sections until the new Works are open to traffic.
