Acting Shop Supervisor Pay. A fire shop employee who is qualified to act as the fire shop supervisor may be assigned temporarily by the department chief to act as the shop supervisor, assuming the preponderance of the responsibilities of shop supervisor for eight (8) consecutive hours or more. The employee shall be paid at a rate five percent (5%) over the employee’s regular salary, or at the minimum salary of the higher classification, whichever is greater, retroactive to the beginning of said temporary assignment. Weekends or other regularly scheduled days off will not disrupt the continuity of hours. Overtime rates while working in the out-of-class assignment shall be calculated at the acting pay rate.
