Temporary Principal/Vice\u2010Principal\n35.06 When a Principal or Vice\u2010Principal will be absent from the school for a period of less than one school year, the Employer may appoint a member of the Bargaining Unit as a temporary Principal or Vice\u2010Principal to fulfill the duties of the absent administrator.\n35.07 The temporary Principal/Vice\u2010Principal shall be paid at the starting grid rate for the position, prorated for the period of the acting assignment and shall be subject to the same working conditions as a Principal/Vice\u2010Principal in that school for the period of the acting assignment.\n35.08 The Bargaining Unit member shall be entitled to return to the member\u2019s former position if it still exists, or a comparable position if it does not, with full rights and privileges as though there had been no break in service within the Bargaining Unit provided that the term as temporary Principal or Vice\u2010Principal does not exceed 193 work days, within 3 school years.\n35.08.01 When the Employer receives notification that the absence of an administrator for whom a teacher has been appointed as a Temporary Principal or Vice\u2010Principal will exceed \"a period of less than one school year\", the appointment of said teacher shall conclude no later than 25 days following the notification or the last day of the semester, whichever comes first.
